Sweet Sticky Chicken Thighs

Sweet Sticky Chicken Thighs

Sweet Sticky Thighs | The Accidental Chef Blog

This sticky sweet chicken thighs recipe is perfect for a lazy day! It is super simple to throw together and smells delicious while cooking. It’s not a heavy dish plus with the home-made apricot jam, it’s incredibly mouthwatering! I was gifted a couple months ago with home-made jam made by the mother of one of my good friends (Thanks Yvette!). Since then, I have been looking for something to try it out on, that being said you do not have to use home-made jam but if you do it will be healthier than the store bought kind! The sage and the apricot jam balance the flavors out nicely to produce a sweet and savory taste with the chicken thighs. Overall, this is a great easy recipe to try out on a rainy day. – The Accidental Chef

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 6 skinless pieces of chicken thighs
  • 3/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 tsp of sage powder
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 cup of apricot jam
  • 2 tsp of low sodium Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions:

In a large bowl, massage the pepper, sage, and oil into the thighs. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, you can make this the night before and let it marinate overnight.

Once you have marinated the thighs, brush on the apricot jam on the thighs about once tbsp per thigh set, set aside the. Place the thighs into the crock pot with the minced garlic and the Worcestershire sauce.

Set the crock pot on low for one hour.  Once that hour is up glaze the thighs with one tbsp of apricot jam again. Cover and cook on low for 30 more minutes and then let the thighs cool for about 3-4 minutes before serving!
