This healthy Sweet and Spicy Chicken Strips recipe is beyond simple to make and only requires 8 ingredients. This healthy chicken recipe is great for a busy night or a last minute rescue. The agave brings a delightful sweetness to this paleo recipe while the chipotle chili spice brings the heat.  This chicken is also low in calories, low in fat, and low carb. Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp of Organic Blue Agave
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 2 tsp of ground cumin
  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp of chipotle chile powder
  • 1/2 tsp of onion salt
  • 4 4 oz chicken breasts
  • Olive Oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Trim the fat of the chicken breasts and slice them into finger sized strips. Then place the chicken strips into a bowl.

 

In a smaller bowl, add all the spices into the bowl and mix them thoroughly.

 

In the bowl add in the agave and with a brush, gently mix the two ingredients together until the chicken is well coated with the agave.

Then add the spices to the chicken agave bowl, be sure to mix and coat the chicken strips evenly. I used my brush to help coat the chicken evenly with the spices.

In a 9 by 13 baking dish, pour about 1 tbsp of this lemon and cinnamon infused olive oil and with the brush make sure the oil is spread all over the bottom of the dish. Then add the chicken into this dish with any of the leftover agave in the bowl. Then add about 1 tbsp of the agave over the chicken.

Place the chicken into the oven for 26 minutes.

Let the chicken rest for about 2 minutes before serving!
